About Our Association

About us

At Genetic Cancer Screen Association, we are a patient advocacy group -- a company made up of doctors, genetic counselors along with other highly trained and experienced professionals that are committed to providing genomic insights to help individuals understand genetic inherited risk that may predispose them and their family's to cancer.

We are helping individuals and healthcare providers harness the power of genetics to improve the quality of individual and family health (at the patient and physician levels) by offering information, resources and high-quality, reliable, no cost genetic testing to all who may benefit from it.

We are also a marketing and distribution channel for our national, CLIA Certified and CAP accredited labs that meet the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) recommended requirements, and federal standards for quality, accuracy and reliability of tests.

We facilitate state of the art automated lab services provided with the latest in Next Generation Sequencing technology that allows us to sequence the entire human genome with the highest standard of quality. We have been involved in the advocacy and lab industry for over 20 years.

We are committed to educating, empowering and building awareness in the fight against cancer! We work diligently to provide you with resources and information that can save lives!

Our mission is to spread awareness about Genetic Cancer testing and Pharmacogenomics testing in hopes to help save lives and improve the quality of healthcare. We are committed to educating, empowering and building awareness to promote patient wellness and precision medicine care!

We provide advanced clinical genetic sequencing services to patients, physician practices and hospitals across the entire U.S. as leaders in the genomic science revolution in preventative diagnostics and treatment of genetic diseases.

We provide the public and healthcare providers with clinically actionable information and tools that promotes patient wellness and precision medicine care.

We are committed to ensuring that patients get the genetic answers they need.

Early detection, saves lives and the past few decades have seen incredible advances in genetic science. Genomic science now allows the identification
of many genes associated with cancer and thus offers detection of cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage*.

We believe that knowing you have an inherited risk, empowers you to be proactive about your health and allows you to make better healthcare choices that can provide better health outcomes. We offer tools and resources to educate, to share and to equip individuals and families to live their best life.

We are privileged and honored to have a platform to spread the word about genetic cancer testing and to offer individuals as well as families, the potential to receive testing at no cost to them as a patient.

We are committed to delivering high-quality, no cost testing, to everyone who can benefit from it. We offer more than just a high quality test and process, from beginning to results phase; we make sure the genetic testing process goes smoothly and are here to support our clients every step of the way in any way we can.

Our network of professionals specialize in genetics. Board-certified professionals and clinical experts are made available to our clients, if they choose to undergo genetic cancer testing and meet the medical requirements for testing using our program.

Our professionals are experts at explaining complex genetic concepts and analyzing family history to understand disease risk.

They also help people understand what their genetic test results mean for themselves and family members.

Genetic cancer testing is available to many at no cost, through federally funded programs through the affordable healthcare act, which in part supports innovative medical care delivery methods designed to lower the costs of health care generally. However, Medicare, Medicaid, or other federally funded programs will pay only for tests that meet their coverage criteria and are reasonable and necessary to treat or diagnose a patient.

Medicare pays for genetic testing when the test is considered medically necessary and the criteria in applicable Local Coverage Determination policies are met. Thus, our network currently offers testing at no cost to patients that meet medical criteria requirements and patients who are recipients of government funded programs (ie, Medicaid, Medicare, Medicare-Advantage, and Tricare). If you are not a recipient of a federally funded program, there are some other insurance carriers that we also accept at this time. You can review the list of insurances we accept, by reviewing the 'Why is the genetic cancer test kit at no cost to patients? ' by clicking here.

Why would I want to talk to a doctor that specializes in genetics as opposed to my primary care physician?

There are many doctors that are not abreast of the latest advances in genomic science, neither are they aware of the criteria nor the processes of effectively screening a patient through the genetic cancer testing phases. Our advocates will help you locate doctors from our Genetics Provider Network (GPN), who specialize in genetics and can help assess if genetic testing is right for you. If that doctor determines you would benefit from genetic cancer testing, he or she will order your test. You can read more about the process by clicking here.

We are committed to securing your privacy through full compliance with HIPAA and an active privacy program.

Your samples are sent to and test processed by labs, which are CLIA certified, CAP accredited that meet the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) recommended requirements, and federal standards for quality, accuracy and reliability of tests.

Our labs disclose test results only to the requesting healthcare provider/designee, and not to anyone else (including insurance carriers) without your written permission. As mandated by HIPAA, all professionals in our network undergo privacy awareness training and have implemented administrative and technical safeguards to protect patient privacy, just the same as your healthcare provider requires.

If you choose to request a no cost, at home cancer testing screening kit, a professional will contact you to arrange for an at home visit by a healthcare advocate, where they will guide you through the process, briefly review your medical history and get you connected with a doctor that specializes in genetics, that will order the test for you, if they deem it medically necessary.
